The heart of the tailor-made system is Harman Kardon Logic 7 technology, which was originally developed for professional recording studios. The innovative audio-processing technology creates the faithful, fuller surround sound and makes it available in every seat in the car from any stereo or 5.1 multichannel recording. Using 15 loudspeakers, Harman Kardon acoustic experts have produced a sound platform that meets the expectations of even the most discerning hi-fi enthusiast. The Harman Kardon DSP amplifier with a total output of 600 watt also ensures optimum sound. It is equipped with a digital signal processor (DSP) that controls the frequency with its high computing capability, ensuring a harmonious sound in the vehicle interior. Dynamic Volume Control (DVC) ensures that the volume is automatically adjusted as the background noise increases. This means that the sound level of the recording always seems the same from the point of view of the passengers.

Loss-free transmission of modern formats

The audio system in the CL-Class is also equipped with DTCP encryption technology. Digital Transmission Content Protection means that all signals can be transmitted and processed en route from the sound carrier to the amplifier. In other words: The technology does away with the need to convert digital into analog signals. The result is lossless reproduction of modern multichannel formats, whether from DVD-Audio, DVD-Video or DTS® CD media. Loss in quality during transmission with high-resolution multichannel sound recordings in the MLP, MLP 5.1, DTS 5.1, Dolby® Digital 5.1 and PCM digital standards are now a thing of the past. This is a basic requirement in producing brilliant sound.
